What is Wunderbox?

Wunderbox creates thoughtfully curated and themed table-top sensory bin designed to help develop children's cognitive abilities, fine motor skills, and overall early childhood development by inspiring and encouraging imaginative play.

The name, Wunderbox, was inspired by the German word 'wunderbar' which translates into 'wonderful' – thus, "WonderfulBox" was born.

How does Wunderbox work?

Wunderbox encourages the multi-sensory development of children by presenting them with various visual and tactile stimuli through three-dimensional scenes. Everything needed to start the sensory play experience is included in the box. It takes minutes to set up and the best part is, all your little one has to do is play! Learn more.

Why is Wunderbox better if I can just assemble one myself?

Wunderbox is designed in such a way that everything is delivered in one box which is closable, stackable, portable and leak resistant. We have done the leg work of thinking about themes and carefully assembling the toys and tools that go with each theme and foster motor skill development. The only thing that is required from you is to open the package and start playing with your little one.

Is Wunderbox safe for toddlers?

Wunderbox and all its parts are made using durable and non-toxic materials. However, due to the smaller parts that come with the package, it is highly recommended for ages 3+ with adult supervision. 

How do I care for my Wunderbox?

Let’s face it, little fingers can be full of germs so, every now and then, it would be a good idea to clean your Wunderbox and all of its parts.

The bin, figurines, tools and accessories can be washed with soap and warm water and can be sanitized with a solution of bleach (1/4 bleach in 1 gallon of water) or your sanitizer of choice, if desired.

To care for your water bead medium:  Every few weeks, spritz your beads with water or re-soak them if you feel they are drying out. Avoid extreme temperatures. Dirty fingers can cause bacteria and mold to grow on the beads. To sanitize, we suggest rinsing them in a bowl with a very small amount of bleach, a drop or two per quart (too much bleach will make the beads soft and mushy). Let them sit for an hour or so, rinse in cool water and drain.

To care for your kinetic sand medium: To sanitize your kinetic sand, we suggest spreading the product into a thin layer and misting with your favorite surface disinfectant. Mix up the product and repeat 2 more times being careful not to saturate the product. Spread it back out and let it air dry before storing.

To care for your decorative sand medium: Pour water over the sand and stir it vigorously with a long wooden spoon. Strain the water out and repeat until water is clear. Spread onto a baking sheet and bake at 200F for 20 min (to kill any microorganisms and dry out the sand). Cool and completely air dry before use.

To care for your lentil medium: Rinse in warm water until water runs clear. Spread in a thin layer on a baking sheet and bake at 200 F for 20 min (to kills any micro-organisms and dry out the medium). Cool and completely air dry before use.

What about shipping?

Within the Lower 48 U.S. States we ship via UPS and happily offer $7 flat-rate shipping on orders weighing less than 9lbs, larger orders are $9.99 – add $5 to AK & HI. Orders over $89 (after coupons, discounts) shipped to the Lower 48 U.S. States qualify for free Ground Shipping, $10 for AK & HI. Shipping on small items under 0.1lbs is mailed via USPS – $3 to the U.S. and $4 to Canada.

We ship to Canada via UPS, rates range between $15-$25 depending on the destination. Please note: Any surcharges, taxes, duties, or brokerage fees are the responsibility of the customer.

We strive to ship all orders within 2-business days, usually sooner. Shipping times depend on the region in the U.S. – see map below. Canadian customers, please allow up to 2 weeks for delivery.

You will receive a shipping notification with your Tracking # the day your order ships. If you have not received your tracking info, please contact us (include your Order #).

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept payments from American Express, Discover, MasterCard, Visa, and PayPal. 

What is your Return/Exchange policy?

Returns: Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. We recommend using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance.

Refunds (if applicable): Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.
